We met with Mike Ahern, superstar interiors blogger at Brit Decor, to chat about what’s currently topping his coffee table and his love for a sweet treat.
My current read is Paul Arden’s inspirational book, ‘It’s not how good you are, it’s how good you want to be.’ This is the second book I have read by this author and essentially it’s a guide on how to get the best out of yourself – Amen to that!
The most recent film I’ve watched at home is the ‘Beautiful Thing’ based on the screenplay by Jonathan Harvey. The film is a touching urban tale of two young guys struggling to ‘come out’ in 90’s London. I’ve watched this film over and over but it’s still one of those feel-good films I like to pop on every now and again.
In terms of music, I tend to listen via my iPhone 6+ because it’s always with me. My most listened to track right now is Tycho’s ‘Montana’ remix by Christopher Willits. My choice of music depends on my mood and right now I need to chill so this track is perfect.
Readers of Brit Décor will be aware that I have a major sweet tooth, so it’s no surprise that my tabletop should include a Krispy Kreme doughnut! The strawberries and cream flavor is simply scrummy - and look at the beautiful colouring and texture, it's so cheerful.
My object of the moment is this tiny green glass elephant, which was given to me by my Nan around 25 years ago. I’m very sentimental at heart and I like to place little reminders of loved ones around the cottage.
