Home Décor Ideas: Sofa Beds Vs Regular Beds
There are more benefits to swapping from a regular bed to a sofa bed than you might initially think. Gone are the days of lumpy, uncomfortable sofa beds; ours are particularly squishy and soft since they all come with pocket sprung mattresses. Sofa beds are particularly useful for living rooms, guest rooms, home offices, studio apartments, and practically any home that is short on sleeping space. A regular bed takes up a huge amount of floor space and generally has a singular purpose (you can sometimes get beds with under bed storage). A sofa bed can be put away during the day and folded out when needed; what’s more, some of our sofa beds come with storage too, so you can hide away the pillow and duvet when it’s not needed. In this blog, we take a look at the subtle differences between sofa beds vs regular beds.
Bertie sofa bed
Our standard sofa bed is a comfortable design that is compact and neat. We have plenty of sofa beds available in various designs, but one of our favourites is the Bertie sofa bed. This is a modern design that is exceptionally comfortable both as a sofa and when converted to a bed. Many people believe that sofa beds are less comfortable to sit on due to the mattress frame mechanism; this isn’t true. Sofa beds should be just as comfortable as a regular sofa; however, you may find they are slightly firmer, which is due to the cushions being above the frame as opposed to a sprung seat unit.
Bertie chaise sofa bed
With a chaise sofa bed like our Bertie chaise, you have the added option of the sofa doubling as a lazy lounger during the day, and it can be converted into a proper sofa bed at night for a good nights sleep. What’s more, our sofa chaise also comes with the added bonus of storage, which means you don’t have to clear out any cupboards or use up valuable storage space for the bedding for your sofa bed: it’s right there when you need it!
Bertie corner sofa bed
Many people think that a sofa bed limits your options on the sofa style, but this is not true. We have a huge range of sofa bed styles that include regular sofas, chaise sofas and corner sofas. The benefit of a corner sofa bed is that it allows you to maximise your floor space. Our Bertie sofa bed range also comes in a corner sofa with optional sofa bed.
If you’re looking for something a little smaller than a sofa bed, perhaps as a spare bed for a child’s room that can be packed away when not in use, then our Betsey bed-in-a-box is ideal. This little box has a padded top that doubles as an extra seat and its compact size is designed to be tucked away, either at the end of a bed, or under a study desk, and can be pulled out when you have a guest come to stay.
