Get the Look: Hotel Americana

Starting in 2018 and expected to gain in popularity through to Spring/Summer 2019, the Trend Bible predicts we’ll likely see a rise in the ‘Hotel Americana’ trend in our interiors. Think Miami Beach and Palm Springs: the ultimate in vacation style. Pastel-coloured walls and accessories, pops of neon and luxe metallic finishes all contribute towards a superior, art-deco style, high-end hotel look. A lighthearted nod to retro revival, the Hotel Americana look bucks serious interior trends and embraces escapism and frivolity. If you’re having trouble conceptualising this one, then think of an American dessert; excessively sweet, rich, transporting you to happy pastimes, and just a little bit over the top!

Hotel Americana

Grown-up pastel pinks, pistachio greens and lemon yellows really see this trend brought to life. Furniture shapes should have a real sixties influence, with fluted-backed chairs, paired with vintage lamps and shiny marble floors. You can’t go wrong with some fringing, and we think this round mirror from Oliver Bonas couldn’t be more suited to this look.

Wallpaper is likely to be your new best friend if you’re going to embrace a little of the 1960s Miami Beach into your homes. This palm tree print version combines two of the trends major colour players; pink and green. It’s almost enough to make you want to pull out your sunnies and roller blades!

Grown-up details like this Lee Broom, split orb, crescent chandelier stops the feel from being too cutesy and more refined. A fully stocked liquor cabinet, with old-fashioned martini glasses, will also keep this interior style looking sophisticated and not twee.

This is one of those trends that is bound to bring a smile to your face every time you walk into the room. Bring some west coast sunshine to your home and embrace the Hotel Americana trend.
