Fancy spending the day in St Albans?

Here are some of our favourite things to explore around town…

YE OLD FIGHTING COCKS PUB

This quaint watering hole claims to be the oldest pub in England - and it’s got the hearty feel to back it up. We’d advise you to mind your head in here as it seems people really did use to be shorter!

ST ALBANS CATHEDRAL

This sprawling piece of history is St Albans’s most infamous attraction. It dates back to Norman times and, in fact, the first draft of the Magna Carta was drawn up there. Quite the spot for history buffs!

ST ALBANS MARKET

The town’s market is a veritable cornucopia of food, clothing, and handcrafted homegoods. Its offering changes day-to-day so it’s worth checking what’s on before you visit.

VERULAMIUM PARK

Enjoy 100 acres of parkland named for the Roman city which stood on this site. The city walls complete with their London Gate can still be seen today, alongside an array of other historical points of interest.
