Interior Trends: Animal Print
Sometimes interior trends mimic fashion trends, and animal print is certainly following suit. This year, animal print is all over the runways and in our wardrobes, but it’s also making an appearance in our home décor. We think animal print is a fun, bold and striking design that deserves a little spot in everyone’s home; whether you go all out or introduce some subtle elements, you’ll be surprised how easily animal print will fit into your scheme.
Our animal print is a 100% pure brushed cotton fabric that has been digitally printed with our animal print design. The pattern was designed entirely in-house but our product team, before they carefully selected the colour palette of off-white and inky navy. The result is a spectacular, daring animal print fabric that has a distinctly modern edge. We’ve included it in our Simply Scandi Collection as it works brilliantly on mid-century, modern statement pieces.
We think our Aragon is the ideal design to show off this animal print fabric. With its smooth back and clean lines, the fabric can really shine: printed fabrics work best on flat furniture that doesn’t have pleating or buttoning which disrupts the pattern. A chair or sofa like this will really make an impact in your space. The great thing about animal print is that it’s a versatile fabric that can be paired with almost anything. Keep your décor simple and let the fabric stand-out on its own, or, go all out bold with bright colour walls and clashing fabrics (we think a bright fuchsia pink looks great next to our animal print).
If you think a large upholstered piece might be too overpowering for your space, how about considering a smaller piece like a modern footstool in animal print to bring a little pattern to your décor. It’s still a fun, vibrant pop of print, but less overbearing compared to a fully upholstered chair or sofa. Thanks to the muted colour palette, our animal print still works with light pastel shades just as well as darker shades.
