A Guide to
our Different
Types of Velvet
You may think that when it comes to types of fabric, there are a limited number of options, such as cotton, wool, or velvet. However, within these fabric families, there are various compositions, finishes, and colours, offering you a world of choice! Velvet is a sumptuous, tactile fabric and among the most popular upholsteries for our designs. Here we take a closer look at our different types of velvet, diving into their compositions, textures, and finishes to help you decide which one is right for your home.

Aqua Velvet
Aqua Velvet is a fabulous choice for family households, bringing in a luxurious look while keeping maintenance simple. They’re treated with a protective barrier that makes clean-ups a cinch. Most spills can be erased with nothing more than a damp cloth! Now, that’s what we call peace of mind.

Luxury Velvet
Luxury Velvet is the pièce de résistance of our velvet offering. It’s got a generous pile, producing a dense, pillowy feel that’s wonderfully soft to the touch. It’s made in Italy using 100% cotton, which is treated to create a light shimmering effect. If you’re looking to make a style statement with a generous dash of luxury, this is the fabric for you!

Cotton Velvet
Cotton Velvet is an incredibly popular option for everything from our sprawling sofas to compact footstools. One of the world’s most precious fabrics, this is a sumptuous choice that beautifully catches and reflects the light. Our Cotton Velvets are made of 100% cotton and have a rub count of 40,000. This is more of a matte velvet, with a surface which will not crush.

Allure
Allure has got a similar appearance to Cotton Velvet with the luxuriously soft texture to match. The difference is Allure enjoys more durable properties, with a shorter pile which renders it more resistant to crushing. It’s composed of 100% Polyester, imparting a robust rub count of 100,000. That makes it a sound choice for busy family homes which might see the odd mishap!

Smart Velvet
Smart Velvet has a luxuriously deep pile, which helps to stave off any marking or ‘bruising’. This rich texture also makes the fabric resistant to stains, which can typically be removed with just a damp cloth. It’s composed of a mixture of materials: 48% Cotton, 44% Modal, and 8% Polyester. The combination gives Smart Velvet a soft sheen that’s sure to turn heads in any living space.

Velvet Luxe
Velvet Luxe has that classic sumptuous texture to it that’s intrinsic to a quality velvet. Its soft touch and luminous look make it a real winner on our designs, bringing a hint of sophistication to any scheme. It’s made of 60% Cotton with 15% Viscose and 25% Polyester, which help to give it an added dash of durability. Its refined look belies a hearty rub count of 50,000, making it not just a luxurious fabric but a smart choice!
