At Arlo, we’re drawn to beautiful fabrics, the kind that catch the eye and quietly elevate a room. They should feel wonderful but also live well, ageing gracefully and becoming part of the home. Often, the fabrics we love most are the ones we assume won’t withstand everyday life. That’s where Aquaclean comes in. These specially treated textiles have quietly become a favourite among our customers for years, not because they’re technical or clever (though they are), but because they let people relax. Truly relax.
Aquaclean already offers a considered range, but we wanted to take it further. So Julie, our Head of Creative, headed to the mill to create a set of colourways that sit naturally within our own palette: tones that feel familiar to Arlo, considered and easy to live with.
For this collection, Julie focused on Velvet and Chenille. Both have a wonderful tactility and presence, and she wanted their character to come through in a more refined way — a soft, matte finish rather than the sheen sometimes associated with performance fabrics. The result is a group of textiles that hold their own alongside our Luxury offering while remaining firmly within our Band D price range: elevated in look and feel, yet reassuringly accessible.
As ever, colour began with nature. Our palette at Arlo leans into earth tones with a quiet emotional depth, and the same approach shaped this Aquaclean collection. Muted, grounded hues with the occasional pastel lift — from warm Crumb to deep Hearth to the freshness of Dew — each shade echoing the rhythm of the British landscape. And because these colours sit on Aquaclean bases, they’re well-prepared for the realities of home: a splash here, a mark there, easily lifted away with a little water and a clean cloth.

The fabrics themselves are made with longevity in mind. The Velvet blends polyester, modacrylic and viscose; the Chenille combines polyester, modacrylic and cotton. Together, they create durable, comfortable weaves designed to stand up to busy households — pets, children and everyday living included — without compromising on beauty.
If you’re looking for fabrics that balance aesthetics with practicality, this new Aquaclean range may be just the thing.
