Arlo & Design Fabric Edit: Rural Romance

To kick off Arlo & Design we’ve created five distinct furniture edits, which we find are useful for establishing a design direction in line with emerging trends. One of our favourites is curated around a trend we call Rural Romance. This story is all about warmth and comfort, with rich hues that envelop you. A nostalgic colour palette mixes Rooibos and Green Fig with desaturated Vintage Pinks and Jacaranda Flower to induce a familiar sense of calm. Speckled textures and twisted yarns add plenty of visual interest and reconnect with the comfort of home.
Our house Basket Weave fabric is a lovely expression of this developing trend. The Sandstone colourway is a creamy, warm off-white that’s neutral, yet characterful. The weave itself is rustic and textural, inviting you to settle in and get comfortable. Cotton and linen intertwine with viscose and polyester for a fabric that’s soft while also durable. It’s a fantastic all-round upholstery that you can dress up with cushions and throws through the seasons.
We’re also particularly loving the Natural Plain fabric that’s new to our house range. The Pistachio colourway is wonderfully rich, evoking pastoral scenes of the country. Picture rolling hills of sprouting rapeseed, with flecks of yellow punctuating a symphony of soft green tones. This is a primarily cotton upholstery with a lovely cross-hatched quality to it. If you’re looking to liven up your living space without overpowering the room, this is the one for you!
We couldn’t go without mentioning True Linen in this trend story. The Whisky colourway has become a fan favourite for its deep, warming colour. There’s a burnt umber quality to this hue that gives it real richness. It works well as a base in more darkly coloured interiors, or as a comforting anchor piece in lighter schemes. Plus, the 100% linen composition is a real treat to sink into.
